What a teacher's week actually looks like
No office, no badge, no weekly stand-up. You move between one- and two-hour appointments, at students' homes or at Eaux-Vives, in the slots you opened yourself.
- You open your slots. We only offer you lessons that fall inside them. A week with no availability is a week with no requests.
- We send you the context beforehand. Who the student is, what they want to learn, where they are starting from. You never arrive blind.
- You teach, then write the follow-up sheet. One page, written while it is fresh. That is what brings students back.
- You invoice your hours. Monthly, on a template we provide. No chasing payments yourself.
Travel time counts. We assign lessons by neighbourhood so you are not crossing the canton between two appointments. A car is not required: most of the team gets around by public transport or bicycle.
The profile we are looking for in Geneva
No computing degree needed. We want someone who knows how to talk to people and who is genuinely comfortable with everyday tools.

- Living in or around Geneva, able to travel to students' homes
How the hiring process works
Four steps, around three weeks. No online technical test, no seven interviews, no radio silence.

We talk over a coffee
A coffee at Eaux-Vives or a video call, 30 minutes to meet. We talk about your background and how you see this work.

A paid trial lesson
You teach a trial lesson to a volunteer, and it is paid: this is not free work. We watch the teaching, the rapport, the manner.
- 04
Onboarding and first lesson
Welcome to the team. We walk you through the internal tools, give you access to the student pool, and hand you a first lesson within 15 days.

Do I need a computing degree?
No. None of our teachers were hired on the strength of a diploma. What we look at is your ability to explain things simply and your genuine command of two or three everyday tools. Several people on the team joined us as career changers.

What employment status do I need?
You invoice your lessons as a self-employed contractor. If you are not registered yet, that is not a blocker: say so in your application and we will walk you through the AVS steps at your own pace. Several teachers set up their status after joining us.

How am I paid?
Per lesson hour taught, and the rate rises with the volume of hours you take on with us. The full scale is shown to you at the interview, figures included. It is the same for everyone and does not depend on how well you negotiate.

How many hours a week are expected?
There is no minimum. Some teachers give two hours a week alongside another job, others make it their main activity. Consistency matters more than volume: it is what lets us entrust you with a student over the long run.

Do I need a car?
No. Geneva is compact and well served, and most of our teachers travel by public transport or bicycle. We take this into account when assigning lessons: you are never sent across the canton without reason.

How quickly will I hear back?
Within five working days at the most, and a real person reads your application. Even if your profile is not the right fit, you get a reasoned reply. We know what an application left unanswered feels like.
