In short: we collect the bare minimum and we sell nothing. We measure the site's audience with Google Analytics, and how well our ads work with Google Ads. If you wish to exercise your rights, write to bonjour@cours-informatique.ch and we reply within 30 days.

- the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP, nLPD in French), which came into force on 1 September 2023
- the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU 2016/679) for visitors residing in the European Union
3. Data collected and purposes
Here is exactly what we collect, why, and on what legal basis.
3.1 Technical data (server logs)
When you visit the site, our host Infomaniak automatically records: IP address (anonymised), browser type, pages visited, and the date and time of connection.
- Purpose: site security, abuse prevention, technical diagnostics
- Legal basis: the legitimate interest of the data controller
- Retention period: 12 months maximum (Infomaniak policy)
3.2 Newsletter form
If you sign up for our newsletter using the form in the site footer, we collect your first name and your email address.
- Purpose: to send you one computing tip per week
- Legal basis: explicit consent (tick box)
- Retention period: until you unsubscribe
- Data processor: Infomaniak Network SA (Switzerland)
- Unsubscribe: in one click from every email you receive
3.3 Contact form and WhatsApp
If you contact us by telephone, WhatsApp or email, we keep the information you provide: first name, telephone number, email address, and the nature of your request.
- Purpose: to answer your request and arrange a course where relevant
- Legal basis: performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures
- Retention period: 3 years after the last contact
3.4 Google reviews via Trustindex
The Trustindex widget displays the Google reviews left on our Google Business Profile listing. It sets cookies so that it can work (dynamic loading, caching).
- Purpose: to display verified reviews to visitors
- Legal basis: legitimate interest (social proof)
- Data processor: Trustindex.io (EU)

The cours-informatique.ch website uses a small number of cookies, listed here:

No Meta pixel, and we never sell your data. We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read, and Google Ads to measure whether our ads actually bring in lesson enquiries. These cookies are there to count and attribute visits, never to sell your information. You can set your browser to block them, with no significant impact on reading the site, install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or manage ad personalisation from your Google account.
5. Recipients of your data
Your data may be shared with:
- Infomaniak Network SA (Geneva, Switzerland): website hosting and newsletter management
- Trustindex.io (European Union): display of Google reviews
- Google LLC (United States, Privacy Shield successor): audience measurement for the site (Google Analytics 4) and ad measurement (Google Ads), both through Google Tag Manager, and displaying the map if you interact with Google Maps on the contact page
- WhatsApp / Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd (Ireland): if you choose to contact us via WhatsApp, your data passes through the WhatsApp Business infrastructure
We never sell your data. No transfer for third-party commercial purposes takes place.
6. Transfers outside Switzerland and the EU
Some data processors (Google, Meta) are based in the United States. These transfers are governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and by the adequacy decisions recognised by the FDPIC (Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner).
7. Your rights
Under the nFADP and the GDPR, you have the following rights:

- Right to rectification of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure (right to be forgotten)
- Right to restriction of processing
- Right to object to processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to withdraw your consent at any time

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure the security of your data:
- Encrypted hosting certified to ISO 27001 with Infomaniak (Switzerland)
- HTTPS connections (SSL certificate) on every page
- Access to the data restricted to authorised persons only
- No passwords and no banking data are stored on this site
